My Plate Nutrition Lesson


Ms. Sabin was here again this week to talk to us about My Plate, the national guide to eating healthy.  We learned that half of our plates should contain fruits and vegetables.  So, we enjoyed a very healthy snack that can be an alternate for not-so-healthy pizza.  We used whole-grain English muffins, pizza sauce, cheese and lots of fruits and veggies.  Kids are getting brave and are trying all kinds of new foods - even peppers and tomatoes!  Ms. Sabin told us that our taste buds might need to get to know new foods, so we should try them and keep on trying them because we just might love them some day.
